10IN Turkey
This was my first Turkey kill. Having never hunted Turkeys before, this was an awesome learning experience. Turkeys are the largest upland game bird in North America. They have EXELLENT vision and hearing, making for a fun yet challenging hunt.
This hunt was a spot/call and stalk situation. Over the course of a few days we would stalk turkeys, and place a decoy (we named hazel) in their path of travel. The hope was to get a big Tom to see our decoy. However, these birds are very difficult to get close to in the wild and predicting the path of the turkey is not always an easy task. After couple of days, we spotted the right Tom and our decoy we were using saved the day and kept the birds from passing on by.
